Earlier this year, it was announced that the ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv® Board of Directors approved the creation of the Road Racing Planning Committee (RRPC) to assist with achieving growth and evolution within the framework of the Strategic Program Plan. That strategic plan includes fostering space for both competition and recreation; designing programs around real demand; and encouraging and enabling cross-program participation. Therein, the RRPC is responsible for shaping ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv Road Racing’s long-term direction, defining the mission, vision, and strategic priorities, including event types, target audiences, and opportunities for growth.
Since then, a committee of nine people, comprised of ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv staff, ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv Board of Directors (BoD), and at-large members, has been selected, with Eric Prill, ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv’s Vice President of Road Racing, serving as the Chair.
RRPC Members
Boasting a vast cross-section of motorsport and business experience, as well as a balance of generations, the RRPC is designed to represent Road Racing participants.
Kyle Colbey (At-Large): Kyle serves as a driver and volunteer for ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv Road Racing events in the Northeast, and got his father behind the wheel to make it a family affair. Using experience gained in the ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv, he has gone on to work in motorsports professionally in Timing & Scoring and as a Steward. He is a scrutineer for F1 and has been one of the few people to waive the green flag on the F1 grid.
Bob Crawford (BoD): Currently serving as the BoD Chair, Bob is a past driver and has volunteered in a variety of specialties, most recently focusing on Stewarding and race organization. He is an ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv Member of Excellence honoree and government IT cybersecurity professional, residing outside of Washington, D.C.
Dick Patullo (At-Large): Many call Dick the Godfather of Club Race Experience (CRE, now known as Race Experience), and for good reason as he authored the initial CRE ruleset. He’s a racer, Region leader, Scrutineer, and Steward, plus a Time Trials and Track Night in America® Driven by Tire Rack lead. In addition, he served ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv’s Area 1 as the Director for six years, bringing a wealth of knowledge to the committee.
Eric Prill (Committee Chair/Staff): A second-generation member, Eric is the current Vice President of Road Racing, starting his ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv career in the Club’s Marketing & Communications department. Growing up, he could be found in Timing & Scoring as a kid. A semi-retired racer and former F Production and Solo® National Champion, he is now dipping his toes into the Stewarding ranks. He works out of the Topeka, KS, office when he’s not supporting his son’s acting efforts or leading a rock band.
Ryan Staub (At-Large): As a motorsports insurance broker and risk manager for nearly 20 years, Ryan is in the insurance business daily, serving racing organizations, tracks, teams, and drivers to help support and safeguard the community he loves. He’s also a racer and HPDE instructor with multiple groups, including karting with his son.
Tony Stefanelli (At-Large): With decades of mechanical engineering and product planning leadership on projects including Buell Motorcycles, the Stealth B-2 Bomber, the Space Shuttle, Piper race cars and more, Tony brings a unique perspective to the committee. He’s also a driver and team owner, supporting his son’s Formula F racing efforts, and has been active in leading class community engagement.
Mark Weber (BoD): As an ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv Hall of Famer and Club member since 1970, Mark has been around ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv Road Racing for multiple decades. With 71 Runoffs race starts thanks to running multiple classes per year, and more than 700 ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv races (and counting), he’s not going anywhere any time soon. He’s a retired motorsports photographer who’s a big supporter of racing volunteers, and is often seen assisting with paddock parking at larger events.
Cliff White (At-Large): As active driver and three-time SRF National Champion, Cliff is also a prep-shop owner, driver development coach, and the co-producer for the Amateur Racer series. The second-generation member keeps active raising two third-generation members and running his own non-racing business.
Sydney Yagel (Staff): Former Region leader, Sydney is currently ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv’s Senior Manager of Road Racing. As a second-generation member, she began volunteering on Grid as a kid and has filled roles in just about every specialty for ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv and professional events, including FIA event organization and operations. She’s a Member of Excellence honoree and resides in Indianapolis with her husband and daughter.
Getting to Work
The RRPC committee held its first meeting virtually on June 23 and met face-to-face in Chicago during the July 25-26, 2026, weekend. Meeting minutes, once available, will be posted in Fastrack News and posted to the Road Racing Rules page. Additional plans are in the works for a hybrid town hall, with those committee members attending the Runoffs. Details will be announced on the Road Racing Rules page when they are finalized.
As Chair, Prill will represent the RRPC to the Road Racing Executive Committee (RREC), to work in alignment with the Road Racing Competition Committee (RRCC, formerly CRB) and the Road Racing Stewards Committee (RRSC, made up of the Road Racing Executive Stewards from each Division).
Together, this structure creates an intentional connection between strategy, rules, and execution, enabling ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv Road Racing to respond more effectively to participant needs, adapt to changes in the motorsport landscape, and deliver a stronger overall experience.
The RREC serves as the primary leadership body, representing the Club’s Road Racing program to the ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv Board of Directors.
