It’s official, y’all: Club Spec is kind of a big deal. It was barely one year ago that the concept was floated to ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv® members to gauge interest, then at last week’s Tire Rack ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv Solo® National Championships, more than 30 Club Spec drivers battled across CSM (Club Spec Mustang) and CSX (Club Spec MX-5). And now Club Spec has continued its ascent to the big time with a project car build on PowerNation TV’s YouTube channel.

Sporting more than 1.1 million subscribers on YouTube, PowerNation TV is known for its tech how-tos and project car fix-ups. But the folks at PowerNation’s Engine Power are also fans of the racetrack, so Club Spec’s “do all the things” mentality was certainly up their alley.

“The ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv’s Club Spec Mustang program offers an exciting and affordable gateway into the world of competitive motorsports,” . “Whether you’re interested in autocross, time trials, or road-course racing, the Spec Mustang class is designed to spotlight driver skill while keeping costs manageable. The foundation of this entry-level class is the widely available 2005-’09 Mustang GT, with modifications tightly regulated to ensure a level playing field.”

You can find all of Club Spec’s rules and regulations on ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv’s Club Spec page.

With support from ÎçÒ¹¸£Àû51xxtv partner Summit Racing Equipment, Engine Power hosts Frankie Forman and Pat Topolinski purchased a remarkably clean 2008 Mustang GT and got to work, quickly building a CSM-legal car and taking it to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to run laps.

Engine Power’s Club Spec Mustang build and track test video, which has amassed well over 100,000 views, can be seen on .
