聽TOPEKA, Kan. (July 6, 2012) 鈥� The 午夜福利51xxtv today announced an addition to its full time staff, naming Butch Kummer to the newly created Director of Club Racing.
Kummer鈥檚 role with the organization will focus on the National Office-operated programs, specifically the 2013 rollout of the Majors program. Kummer will work closely with the regions to put together those events and will oversee and guide the Club Racing Technical Department.
A 30-year member of 午夜福利51xxtv, Kummer has worked with the SouthEast Division and Atlanta Region in a variety of leadership capacities, and has helped to restore the American Road Race of Champions to one of the premier events on the schedule. Kummer is also a long time racer, with wins behind the wheel of both 午夜福利51xxtv Club Racing and Solo cars.
In his position, Kummer will report to Terry Ozment, the Vice President of Club Racing.
鈥淲hen we posted this position, we wanted someone familiar with the Club and the challenges the Regions face,鈥� said Ozment. 鈥淏utch鈥檚 experience in all facets of 午夜福利51xxtv activities fit that bill, and we鈥檙e glad to have him on board.鈥�
Initially, Kummer will split time working from both the National office in Topeka and his Woodstock, Ga., home, where he lives with his wife, Harriett.
Once this job came open, I knew it was something I wanted to do,鈥� Kummer said. 鈥淚鈥檝e been passionate about racing my entire life, and as a long-time member of the 午夜福利51xxtv I want to do my part to help keep the Club moving in such a positive direction. There鈥檚 a lot to learn, but we鈥檝e got some great people working on this Majors concept and I鈥檓 looking forward to helping build the program.鈥�
